Arezu & Ankur tied the knot on March 22nd at Merrimon Wynne in downtown Raleigh. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, the couple hosted a fun event fusing Indian and American cuisine.

Catering Works provided the sumptuous buffet, a stunning rose gold accented stacked wedding cake and lush florals.  The ceremony was outside on the lawn under a floral draped arbor.

Design Time

The bride carried a white and cream bouquet of garden roses, spray roses, mini white daisies, hydrangeas, with blush accents, finished with an ivory satin ribbon.  Lambs ear, ruscus, and eucalyptus provided a touch of green.  Her attendants, attired in shades of blush and rose gold, carried smaller bouquets, similar in design to the bride’s.

On The Menu

Food was the focus of the reception.  Passed hors d’oeuvres featured an Indian street food favorite of papri chaat.  Dinner buffet showcased a Dosa station, crispy Indian pancakes with a choice of fillings ranging from Bangalore chicken curry, north Indian chicken curry or apple and chicken curry and roasted butternut squash, beets, and chevre.  Guests could then embellish their dosas with coriander and mint raita, date and tomato chutney, mango chutney and coconut dip.  For dessert, Arezu provided Persian and Indian sweets to wow the crow.

Icing On The Cake

Pastry Works provided a buttercream iced three tier cake, with each tier highlighting a different cake flavor and filling.  Cake flavors included traditional white cake with white buttercream filling, cinnamon chip swirl cake with a buttercream filling, and decadent midnight chocolate cake with Oreo filling.  The eclectic cake design included a rose gold painted bottom tier and the middle and top tier had rose gold painted accents and geometric shapes.
