History

Catering Works, Inc. is an off-premise catering and special event planning company located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Servicing the immediate Triangle area, as well as the Southeastern United States, Catering Works has been in business since 1989. At the core of Catering Works success is a dedicated team of professionals, committed to preparing and presenting the highest quality recipes and beverages with artistic vision and finesse.

Approximately 35 full time a nd up to 100 part time employees make up the team at Catering Works. Customer service is paramount, and the team works in harmony to ensure client expectations are met and exceeded. The culinary team is made up of creative innovators with professional training from such distinguished institutions as Johnson & Wales, The California Culinary Academy of San Francisco, and the Culinary Ins titute of A merica. Team members have held key positions in world-renown fine dining restaurants in the United States and abroad, before coming into the company. Several employees have been with the firm f or 15 years or more.

In addition to award winning food and service, Catering Works provides a full line of products and in effect offers turn-key solutions for special events and delivery/drop offs.  Custom created specialty cakes, expertly crafted florals by our own floral designer, and musical entertainment, are examples.

Catering Works has r eceived numerous industry awards and recognition, such as NACE “Best Tabletop Design” 2007, 2008, 2009, A Toast to the Triangle “Best Presentation” 2008, and Carolinas International Special Events Society EVIE awards for “Best Themed Menu” “Best Corporate Event” and “Best Buffet Presentation”. The “Iron Chocolate Chef” competition at the Museum of Natural Science and the Epicurious Vino Challenge at The Hinnant Vinyards. Catering Works is also pleased to announce they have won the “Best of Weddings” by The Knot Magazine for the fourth year in a row. The company has been featured in local and national media, such as Southern Living magazine, Our State, The News & Observer, NC Public Television, Southwest Airline Magazine and numerous other publications.

Catering Works supports many charitable and non-profit organizations in the Triangle, including Interfaith Food Shuttle, Tammy Lynn Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Susan B. Komen, UNC Public Television and many others. Catering Works is leading the off-premise catering industry in the Triangle area, in adopting green strategies for both foodservice consumption and business operations.
